Deposit Overview
To trade on Polymarket, you need USDC (USD Coin) — a stablecoin pegged 1:1 to the US dollar. USDC is the base currency for all Polymarket trades.
There are two ways to deposit depending on how you access Polymarket:
Via Polyblock (Recommended)
Deposit USDC to your custodial wallet. No MetaMask needed. Funds are available for instant trading.
Via Polymarket Directly
Connect a Web3 wallet (MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet) and deposit USDC on Polygon network.
Depositing on Polyblock
Polyblock uses custodial wallets — we create and manage a dedicated trading wallet for you. This means no MetaMask and no blockchain complexity.
- 1Sign up or log in
Create a free account at polyblock.trade if you haven't already.
- 2Navigate to Deposit
Click the "Deposit" button in the header or go to your profile page.
- 3Copy your deposit address
You'll see a unique wallet address. This is your custodial wallet on the Polygon network.
- 4Send USDC to the address
From any exchange or wallet, send USDC on the Polygon network to your deposit address.
- 5Funds arrive automatically
Polyblock detects the deposit and credits your trading balance. No manual confirmation needed.
Depositing on Polymarket Directly
If you prefer to use Polymarket's native interface with your own Web3 wallet:
- 1Connect your wallet
Go to polymarket.com and connect MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, or WalletConnect.
- 2Bridge to Polygon
If your USDC is on Ethereum mainnet, you'll need to bridge it to Polygon. Polymarket offers a built-in bridge.
- 3Approve USDC spending
You'll need to approve the Polymarket contract to spend your USDC (one-time transaction).
- 4Deposit USDC
Confirm the deposit transaction. Funds are available once the transaction is confirmed on Polygon.
Where to Get USDC
If you don't have USDC yet, you can buy it from major exchanges:
- Coinbase — Buy USDC directly with bank transfer or card. Withdraw on Polygon network to your Polyblock wallet.
- Binance — Buy USDC and withdraw on Polygon. Make sure to select the Polygon network when withdrawing.
- Kraken — Purchase USDC and withdraw to your Polygon wallet address.
- Crypto.com — Buy USDC with card or bank transfer, withdraw on Polygon.
Deposit Times
- Polygon USDC transfer — Usually arrives within 1-5 minutes. Polygon block times are ~2 seconds.
- Exchange withdrawal — Depends on the exchange. Most process Polygon withdrawals within 5-30 minutes.
- Ethereum to Polygon bridge — Can take 10-30 minutes depending on Ethereum network congestion.
- Polyblock detection — Polyblock checks for deposits automatically. Your balance updates within minutes of the on-chain confirmation.
Common Issues
Deposit Not Showing Up
If your deposit hasn't appeared after 10 minutes, check: (1) Did you send on the Polygon network? (2) Did you send USDC (not USDT or another token)? (3) Check the transaction on Polygonscan to confirm it was successful.
Wrong Network
If you accidentally sent USDC on Ethereum mainnet instead of Polygon, the funds won't appear. Contact Polyblock support for assistance with recovery.
Minimum Deposit
There is no minimum deposit amount on Polyblock. However, you'll need at least a few dollars to place meaningful trades since shares are priced between $0.01 and $0.99.
